New Senior Appointment NSW General Manager
WSce has welcomed Simon Berry as General Manager, NSW, as we continue to strengthen our capability.
Simon brings over three decades of experience across the Australian engineering and transport sectors. His career spans major roads, rail, light rail, water, intelligent transport systems and complex multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, combining technical experience with business leadership, project delivery and client engagement.
For 45 years, WSce has built a strong foundation of technical expertise and long-standing client relationships. Simon’s appointment will help us build on that foundation, supporting our people, strengthening client relationships and keeping a clear focus on where our expertise can add the most value.
Leadership built on experience
Simon has spent much of his career leading engineering businesses, multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
Prior to joining WSce, he held senior leadership roles with pitt&sherry, Beca, Amey and Kier, with responsibilities across business strategy, operations, project delivery, client relationships and business development.
At pitt&sherry, Simon led transport strategy across NSW, ACT & QLD, overseeing market strategy, major projects, client relationships and work-winning. He brought that same focus on people and performance to Beca, where he led a team of more than 35 people and helped strengthen business performance, staff engagement and retention.
That combination of leadership, commercial experience and client focus is a strong fit for WSce and the way we want to continue developing the NSW business.
People and relationships
Simon’s experience extends beyond business and project leadership. He has been actively involved with Roads Australia (Now Transport Australia), including its Fellowship Council and Young Professionals Program, and in 2022 received the Roads Australia Champion Award for his contribution to the organisation and industry.
His focus on people and industry relationships aligns closely with WSce’s commitment to developing capability from within, sharing experience and creating opportunities for our people to grow.
“WSce has a strong history in NSW and real depth of technical expertise across the business. My focus is on supporting our people, strengthening client relationships and making sure we put that expertise to work where it can add the most value.”
